I am passionate about exploring how technology, policy, and market incentives are combined in ways that effectively reduce emissions globally.

I bring over 30 years of experience in the environmental and technology sectors and has a successful track record of creating opportunities for businesses and advancing critical industry and government partnerships.

I have worked in international business development, cleantech consulting, and climate policy beginning my career in the information and technology sector in Latin America where I successfully helped companies identify and penetrate new markets, and overcome commercialization and implementation barriers.

I have also led in the development and implementation of carbon-pricing policies and GHG emissions reduction programs. During my five years with the British Columbia Government Climate Action Secretariat, I worked closely with industry and the cleantech sector supporting the development of projects that have reduced carbon emissions and energy consumption. My work also included the provision of financial viability to early-stage cleantech companies and helping them successfully secure funding for cleantech.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance in Mexico, a Masters of Environmental Geography, and a Graduate Degree in Science and Technology Commercialization, both from Simon Fraser University in Canada.

I am a problem solver at heart, driven to advance innovation and cleantech businesses that make a meaningful difference for both people and the planet. 

My goal is to foster ecosystems where technologies, partnerships, and markets for cleantech seamlessly align with policies and funding, accelerating sustainable solutions.

With over 20 years of experience in clean technologies, low-carbon energy, government relations, climate policy, and regulatory affairs, I have actively worked to reduce barriers and create new market opportunities for low-carbon, heavy-duty transportation and alternative fuels. My expertise lies in navigating complex regulatory and policy landscapes for emerging clean technologies in Canada and the United States. I have advised governments at all levels on clean technologies, low-carbon fuel policies and programs, as well as funding and credit initiatives.

In addition to cleantech consulting clients, I have held leadership roles at the Pembina Institute and Westport Fuel Systems, where I have contributed to shaping policies, advancing clean technology adoption, and driving impactful change in the sector.

I hold a Masters of Environment and Business Degree from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Geography from the University of British Columbia.

I am a technology innovator and researcher dedicated to applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to the world’s most pressing sustainability challenges. 

With over 30 years of experience in software engineering and applied research, I’ve focused my career on building intelligent systems that support clean technology

innovation, emissions reduction, and smarter energy use.

My journey began in software development, where I built early expert systems and AI-powered tools long before the current wave of machine learning adoption. Over the years, I’ve directed my expertise toward Cleantech consulting—developing advanced algorithms and platforms that address key challenges in energy monitoring, electric vehicle infrastructure, and demand-side energy optimization. 

In addition to my technical work, I serve as an Adjunct Professor and Senior Research Scientist, with a strong publication record in computational sustainability and open data. I’ve led several interdisciplinary collaborations across academia, industry, and government to accelerate Cleantech innovation through data science. I am also the Founding Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Data Descriptions.

I believe that AI has a vital role to play in the Cleantech transition. My mission is to ensure that intelligent systems are designed not only to be technically robust, but also to support  actionable climate solutions.  

I am deeply convinced of clean energy's crucial role in promoting societal well-being, progress, and innovation. As an analytical thinker, I am driven to identify opportunities and develop data-backed, efficient, and sustainable alternatives for a brighter future.

Over 18 years, I've excelled in analyzing energy policies, regulations, fuel markets, supply planning, and evaluating energy transition strategies, particularly within transportation.

My academic background includes a Chemical Engineering degree (National University of Colombia), a Master's in Renewable Energy Management (University of Barcelona), a Master's in Regulation (University of Los Andes, Colombia), and a Data Analytics Diploma (Douglas College, Canada). 

I provide fractional brand and communications leadership and have a proven record of helping launch high impact products, brands, and initiatives across cleantech, the public sector, and venture backed startups. 

As founder of Bond and Bourne Design, I bridge design thinking, brand development, and strategic execution, supporting boards, executives, and managers alike in aligning visual identity with growth.

A former British military officer with operational command experience, I bring a focused, decisive approach to complex challenges. I’ve led organizations through major scaling cycles, including with Terminal.io, where I helped expand U.S. tech companies into Canada. I hold certifications in executive coaching and digital design and apply a sharp, design led mindset to every engagement.
